ANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORT OF WE FOR YOU FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2020-21

We For You have been working actively among the peoples April 2020 as there was an emergency shut down for 15 long months due to Covid-19. We offer assistance through counselling, free medicine distribution, free clinic service.

Our primary focus is to save as many lives as possible, we are losing mainly the earning hands, and the second wave affects the youth. We have to protect them to avoid the impending financial and social crisis.

The surge in cases has lead to the situation for the less privileged going from bad to worse. Every day, we at WE FOR YOU get distress calls asking for medicines, meals, ration kits & assistance. 

We are already suppling over 2000 meals, bottles of water & masks daily to those in need of food, these are people living in basti’s (an overcrowded area where many poor people live), rain basra’s, flyovers, outside hospitals, old age homes, orphanages, blind homes etc.

During this year, we organized several awareness camps with the Eco-clubs of our district regarding Swachchata Action Plan(SAP),2020-2021.

We have conducted Awareness Rally, Cleanliness Drive, Installation of Dustbins, Distribution of Pamphlets/leaflets, Awareness on Segregation of wastes, Online Competition among Students, Slogan Writing, Plantation Drive in Schools and Community Centres, Distribution of Hygiene Kit among the Participants etc. Around 500 people participated in the overall Campaign.

  We organized the meeting in association with:Shakomathar M.E. School Eco-club, Gohpur Girls High School,Milanjyoti M.E. School Eco-club, PachimKalabari H.S. School Eco-club, Baghmari High School Eco-club, Nehru High School Eco-club.

More than 300 Saplings planted at:Gohpur Town ,Gopalpur G.P.,Kalabari G.P.,Bihali High School,Chariali Adarsh High School,Chariali Academy HS School,Baghmari High School

Due to Nationwide lockdown for Covid-19 pandemic, Daily wage workers, migrant labors, poor and street people facing a very tough situation. Thousands of people with low income or without any source of income have been seriously affected.  People are surviving with minimum foods and some of them are even out of foods. In the last one year, many people are dying because of hunger. Assam is also facing this problem seriously. So, we decided to distribute some foods, dry rations and household material to the needy people of Biswanath District of Assam. During this pandemic, we distributed food items between more than 2000 family of Biswanath District. We also distributed face masks, Sanitizers & sanitary napkins among the needy one. Many other organizations were with us during this drive.

  We also held 3 flood relief camp and 2 health camp in the last year at highly flood affected areas of Biswanath District in the support of District administration, Biswanath and DDMA Biswanath and health Department Biswanath. We distributed Dry rations, Hygiene kits among the flood affected people of Biswanath.  

WFY, reached out many migrant families and made an effort to avail the service provided to them for free. It was an attempt to educate people about cleanliness and hygiene.

We For You organized an Awareness Camp in educate and aware the younger generation about COVID-19 among the younger generation is increasing day by day. More than 50 students participated in the camp.

Medicines are distributed to the migrants as many of them do not have enough to get it for themselves. Therefore, WFY provide free medicines from time to time after surveying the need of  old Person and Disabled People.

We For You provide counselling to the migrants by visiting them and enquiring them about their health and creating awareness among Health  and covid situation.

We For You distributed more than 1500 mask and 100 sanitizers among the migrants, Frontline workers and in the hotspot sites.

Use of sanitary Pad risks down the STI problem in women and help them to have safe and clean menstrual cycle, it was an effort by We For You team help them to know STI more descriptively.

As education is the right of all children, We For You gave a small effort to give free tuition classes to the migrant children as schools were closed for indefinite time.

Women and Child Development Programme:

The rate of death of pregnant women is considerably high in Assam. To eliminate this problem, our Society organized free health check-up camps for such women in the Bezera Development Block of Kamrup District and Goreshwar Development Block area of Baksa District, wherein free medicines were also supplied. The Society also arranged for several childcare training programmes for expectant and nursing mothers of our area.

The development of women and child is of paramount importance in our society. Our organisation continuously held various awareness, training, and policy making programmes for rehabilitation and counseling of women. We are actively working to create awareness among working women regarding their rights and their protection.

Our society is also actively working to prevent women and child trafficking in the region and for that purpose had organized a mass awareness camp at Biswanath Chariali and other places of Biswanath District.

SWACHHTA ACTION PLAN, 2021-2022:

This year, we observed Swachhta Action Plan (2021-22) by organizing 2 awareness camps on theme ‘Awareness on Curbing the Single Use Plastic (SUPs) at Dakhin Pub Kalabari Bahumukhi High School and Charaibari Adarsha Tribal High School of Biswanath district. More than 10 School Eco-clubs were participated in the campaign. During the campaign, we have conducted Awareness rally, Online/offline art competition among the students, Single speech on SUPs management, Online Poster making competition, Cleanliness drive, Plantation drive etc. We planted 50 plant in each campaign and also more than 30 plants distributed among the participants. Mr. Debajit Borah , Mr. Nabajyoti Bhuyan and Mr. Deepak Hazarika was invited as a resource person of the program. They deliver their valuable speech on how pollutions are increases due to uses of SUPs, their management & control of uses and also on Bio-medical waste management & its disposal. Around 250 participants are present on each campaign. We also distributed certificates and prizes among the participants of various competition. More than 200 Saplings planted and Distribution.

We organized the meeting in association with:Madhya Tribal High School,Pachim Kalabari H.S. School,Charaibari Adarsh Tribal High Schol,Gyan Vikash Academy, Sootea,Kalabari Bahumuki High School,Mijika Hig School,Namoni Mising High School,Gohpur Girls High School,Nehru High School Eco-Club.

PROJECT COMPLETION REPORT ON SHG FORMATION PROGRAM AND THEIR PROMOTION, SRLM, ASSAM

About the Program:

A SHG sensitization meeting was held on FY 2020-21 at Gohpur, for aware about the importance of SHG’s and their role & function. The Meeting was conducted by We For You, Biswanath in association with ASRLM, Sonitpur. In the meeting, it was discussed about the formation of SHG’s in the District and their promotion for various skill upgradation program.  The meeting was held in the presence of Circle Officer, Gohpur Sub-Division, BPM, Pub-Chaiduar Block, Field Officer, Pub-Chaiduar Block and President & Secretary, We For You, Biswanath.  Through this meeting, the ASRLM, Sonitpur given the responsibility to us to the formation of 40 SHG’s at Sonitpur and Biswanath District.

By this initiative, interested women were mobilized and they were formed into and SHG’s which are living in the same vicinity and are known to each other. After the completion of 40 SHG’s which includes 400 beneficiaries, a training program was arranged where they were provided free skill upgradation training and employment generation training program.

The groups were savings bank linked at Assam Gramin Vikash Bank.

Outcome of the Project:

  3. They were provided a skill upgradation and employment generation training program in which they were able to learnt about various food processing methods, agricultural cultivation techniques and handcrafts.

SPORT & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

 

Our Society held cricket, Volleyball and football coaching campus cum running trophy competition for high school level players in Paltanbazar Central School Mini Stadium. A physical training camp for both girls and boys were also organized at the same venue.

Youth are the strength of the nation. Youth has ultimate power to changing any system. So, it is important to carry on some Programme for the welfare of the youth we generally conduct some kinds of competition and awareness Programme for the youth it is important to create a competitive mind and to develop their personality and talents. In this financial year we organized cricket and footballs competitions at Chandmari public play ground where 30 teams joined the interested players got training regarding various aspects of football and cricket. We also organized 20 days free yoga camp at our society head office where more than 60 youth participated. During the camp they were thought about the bad effects of taking tabbaco, drags, wines etc. the youth were thought how to take care of their health and how they could provide their services of the society.

 

In promoting income generation programmes for the youth, in organizing skills and leadership development programmes, and in organizing drugs de-addiction camps for the affected youth. During this financial year.

 

PROJECT COMPLETION REPORT ON ST/SC Women Development, Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Assam

About the Program:

Our organization conducting a Food Processing training program since Oct., 2018 to till date at Gohpur, Biswanath in the support of Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Assam. Till date, 250 trainees from BPL Family got benefitted through this program and many more to have. In this program we are providing them Jam, Jelly, Juice and different types of Cake making training by expert trainers. We are helping them to sell their products at nearby markets and districts and some of them are selling it by their own stall at daily market.

 Outcome of the Program:

Till date, 250 trainees of the program got benefitted through this program. They able to become financially independent & Self Employed through this program and also able to promote employment generation. They help the society in the development of social and economic status upgradation.

DETAILS REPORT FOR MEDP

We have successfully completed our 12 Days MED program on Piggery Farming under NABARD, Sonitpur at Borpholong, Gohpur, Biswanath District. The program was held from 20/09/2021 to 01/10/2021, Where 30 participants completed their training on Piggery Farming. The program was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Nabajyoti Bhuyan and Mr. Debajit Borah  (Master Trainer) and Dr. Biman Doley, Trainer cum Resource Person, Mr.Preetam K. Nath, District development Manager, NABARD  Sonitpur &  Biswanath District, Mr.Ranadeep Chutiya, BDO, Pub-Chaiduar Block and  BPM, ASRLM, Pub-Chaiduar Block, LDM, Punjab National Bank, Biswanath  was also present on the inauguration ceremony.

Certificate Distribution program was held on 27/10/2021, President of local GP, Field Officer, ASRLM , Master Trainer and Resource Person and President, We For You was attended the program.

Vocational and Skill Training Centre:

WE FOR YOU providing a Free Vocational training and 3 month Computer Training Program to the youth especially to girls who belongs to SC/ST and Minority at Biswanath Districts since 2015. Where, around 40 students got benefited in one program.

In the financial year 2019-20, we organized a 10 days Handicrafts Product Diversification programme at Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia and Dhemaji  District. Our Society organized many programmes for unemployed Women of our area, who mostly belong to poor families and are mostly unemployed. We organized a ten Days Jute Handicrafts production training program among girls and women from remote areas of respective districts.

The development of the handloom and handicraft sector has been one of the prime objectives of our Society. We observed Handicraft Week and organized  four training camps for 65 lady handloom weavers each at several villages  of Biswanath district.

We also organized a seven days training programme on bamboo craft at Gohpur under Biswanath District. The trainees successfully learnt the art of readymade garment making and handicraft making, after opened production centers and started maintaining their own lives.

Our Activities in the Field of Water Resource Management, Maintenance of Drinking Water Quality, Awareness Generation and Public Health Promotion:

In the last 5 years, our organization was actively working in the field of Quality water management and public health promotion. We conducted various awareness programs in Water Resource Management, Water Quality, Rain Water Harvesting, Water Hygiene Maintain, Water Literacy Program and Public Health Promotion. We are celebrating continuously “World Hand Washing Day” and “World Toilet Day” in every year. More than 40 wash committee were formed by us in various rural Govt. Schools and Private Schools of Assam to aware them about the importance of better drinking water quality management and maintenance of hygiene. We also focused on the promotion of health-related awareness and the advantages of proper hand washing among the public of rural areas for a better environment.

We also held several capacity building programs to sensitize the participants about the issues related to water quality and diseases caused by the drinking of unhygienic water and community management.

Project Completion Report on Targeted Intervention Project on HIV/AIDS at Tinsukia District:

WE FOR YOU with the support of the State AIDS Control Societies ran a Targeted Intervention (TI) projects on HIV/AIDS at Tinsukia District for Migrant workers, Who Inject Drugs (PWID), Men who have Sex with Men (MSMs), and Transgenders (TGs) from October, 2020 to March, 2022.

Targeted intervention is a very significant component of National AIDS Control Programme (NACP). These interventions provide an opportunity to provide comprehensive and integrated HIV prevention as well as care and support services to extremely marginalized High-Risk Groups, such as Female Sex Workers (FSWs), Men who have Sex with Men (MSMs), Transgenders (TGs), People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) and also to bridge populations like Migrant workers and long-distance Truckers. We reached around 8000 target group during our working period, from them 05 no. of person detected with HIV+. Those patients were counselling by us and provided them treatment with free medicinal support.

PROJECT REPORT ON CHILD CARE INSTITUTION:

We are running a Child Care Institution (CCI) at Gohpur, Biswanath District of Assam since 2018 under Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, 2015 for the Protection & Care of Children where we provide shelter, care and protection to Homeless and Trafficking Children, Mentally Illness and Orphans, Illegal birth. CCI is registered under Section 41(1) of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015, under State Child Protection Society, Assam under Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Assam.

 

PROJECT COMPLETION REPORT ON NABSKILL TRAINING PROGRAM:

We completed a one-month NABSKILL training program on ‘Craft Baker’ at Gohpur, Biswanath District under the support of NABARD, Sonitpur. The program was for 30 no. of beneficiaries, where we trained them on making of bakery items like different types of cakes, biscuits and confectionaries like different types of sweets, candies, chocolate & milky products. The program was conducted under the Supervision of Mr. Preetam Kumar Nath, DDM, NABARD, Sonitpur, Mr. Ranadeep Chutiya, BDO, Pub-Chaiduar Dev. Block, Mr. Kishore Borah, President, WE FOR YOU, BPM, Pub-Chaiduar Dev. Block and a Field Worker, WE FOR YOU and trained by 3 Master Trainer namely Deepi Das, Lucky Borah and Rishita Saikia. The program was held from April, 04, 2022 to May, 14, 2022.

 

PROJECT REPORT AS AN IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT AGENCY, UNDER JAL JEEVAN MISSION, ASSAM:

We are working as an Implementation Support Agency, under Office of the Mission Director: Jal Jeevan mission, Govt. of Assam in two districts of Assam namely Nagaon and Sivsagar District. The main aim of the project is to make aware the public about the uses of water, quality of drinking water, organization of public meeting, formation of water user committees in the villages & GP level, awareness among the people about the Main moto of Jal Jeevan Mission scheme and their participation for the successful completion this scheme, IPC & IEC work, Water quality testing, formation of Women Committee etc. We are working at 3 division of Nagaon District Namely Nagaon, Kaliabor and Dhing and one division of Sivsagar district i.e., Sivsagar division.
